To take all detail of the child's history, personality and ability into account in order to fully meet them where they are.
Chilton Au Pairs have been actively working with families and children in the Western Cape since 1994. It initially opened its doors to the city as one of the first multi-cultural pre-schools in Cape Town. Many local and international families sought out our holistic and integrated approach for growing children. Care and stimulation were key to the way we practiced this. Our first Au Pairs trained with our school from 1996 onwards, eventually gaining practical work experience overseas in Europe, UAE and America. Following a natural progression, Chilton then changed its course from pre-school care of children to teaching care of student Au Pairs and Nannies.
To this day South Africa is a growing country where children's needs are constantly assessed and reassessed due to the complex society we live in. Children have structured and long days at school, therefore the need for:
- quality care
- safe transporting of children by the Au Pair
- homework supervision
- focused and loving attention at home
In order to cater to this, we have expanded our training to offer basic childcare course that suits Au Pairs and Professional Nannies, edu care, creche workers and pre-school teacher assistants.
At Chilton we value long term relationships for both our candidates and clients.
Our training course runs 50 weeks of the year. We cater to everyone's needs, offering short part-time courses, as well as intensive full-time advanced training for two months.
Our placement service caters to:
- Professional Au Pairs
- Mannies (Male au Pairs)
- Night nurses
- Private tutors (long-term, short-term, part-time and full time placement)
Placement is exclusive to Au Pairs and Nannies who have completed the Chilton training courses. However we extend placements for specialized tutoring services and children with special needs. International recruitment is also part of our ongoing service to our graduates.
A Chilton Au Pair is a passionate and caring candidate, who is experienced, has completed first aid, in possession of their own vehicles, can drive well, have been reference and back round checked, interviewed and also have a child care related tertiary education.
Hiring a sole charge Chilton Nanny is the preferred route for babies to toddler age group, rather than placing them in a larger childcare group. Their young age makes them vulnerable to picking up infections easily.
We have placed many of our Au Pairs and Nannies with international families overseas through our very own Chilton placement agency in countries such as: Sweden, UK, America, Italy, UAE, Holland, France & Belgium. We also have a long standing alliance partners in several of these countries.
We offer training in a modern and fully-equipped facilities, right at the heart of Cape town. Meeting rooms and conferencing facilities are also available to our clients/employers for Au Pair and Nanny interviews.
